final progress check in

This week, I got a lot done in terms of my final. I:

• finished weaving the piece

• coded the photocells to make boolean variables that would tell me if they were on/off

• made a “prototype” that triggered an LED when a photocell was covered (just to test if the code works)

• laser cut the box and assembled it (realized the box is too tall so I am putting “stilts” on the photocells)

• made punch card sheets (that should work)

• strung some lights on to the piece

• tested the lights (caused some shorts and hopefully I did not burn out the photocells, but I’m not too sure about that yet)

Next steps:

• make sure my lights don’t burn anymore (and that they aren’t broken)

• re-sew the lights if necessary

• string the rest of the lights up and strand test them

• code using the adafruit neopixel library in accordance with the photocells (already testing, sort of)

• final test and hang up!
